archive   Prison   Due to the recent dropoff in crime, coupled with drug diversion programs have reduced New York prison population. Now there is some talk of closing some of the prisons to help balance the budget. My thought is that there is no way that any prisons will close. There is simply too much money, political power, and corruption for this to ever happen. Additionally, The prison guards have a powerful union that is well connected politialally. I think they will simply find more prisoners to meet the demand for space.

people   Gold   Gold is real money. Unfortunately There is not enough gold available to make the global economy work. American global hegemony has allowed the dollar to stand as the resrve currancy for the world for almost a hundred years now. The cracks are showing in this ediface. Why do you think there is so much advestising in the media to buy your scraps of gold. They know the dollar is toast. It is no more valuable than the paper and ink that it is made of. Quantitative easing is just a cute word for inflation. The money that the Federal Reserve is using to buy Bonds; bail out their banker friends derivative industry; buy up the auto industy (except Ford); and pay for their colonial wars is going to drain all the value from the dollar.
